Today is a most amazing day :) I am sitting in my sister's house in Alabama as I write in zee blog, which in and of itself makes me very happy! I have not seen Kama since she came to Orlando to visit me last May when I broke my foot ;( We have been trying to reconnect since then, but either I or she has not been able to make the trip for one reason or another.
I arrived yesterday evening and have the entire weekend with her, wish I had more time to spend with Kama, but I will take this for the time being. I took a yoga class this morning at UpDog Yoga center in Athens Alabama! I was so excited to find a little place that offers yoga close to my sisters home - last time I came to visit there was nothing close by.

On another note, I just purchased my plane ticket back to India!!!!!!!! I've been looking at flights for the last two weeks and trying to figure out when would work best. It is now official that I will get my butt back to Mysore this year afterall - leave Orlando on Sunday, May 25th and arrive on the 26th. I plan to spend three months studying at AYRI so I should be returning on Tuesday, August 26th. I have already made arrangements via Ganesh for housing so I'm all set there, and I mailed my registration off to AYRI last week. What's more, Steve should be returning from his travels in May and has already agreed to take on my classes and clients, so I am nearly covered on all fronts. Now it just comes down to figuring out how the heck I'm gonna pay for this trip ;) and figuring out the little details. Kwang is awesome - as always he is super supportive - I just wish he could come with me ;(

My new space is also coming together quite nicely! Most of the painting is done, and I should finish the rest of it next week. I'm so proud of meself - did almost all of it :) I also have the logo design for my little shala and look forward to getting it together. Plan to do bits and pieces between now and when I go to India and really finish things up when I return. But I'm super excited about taking the free time during my trip to India in getting some great programs and events organized for my shala when I return.
That is about all the big news in my life to date - will certainly keep ya posted with more ;)

Happy Sunday everyone ;)
The last week of my life has been very exciting! To start, I quit teaching at Urban Ashtanga Yoga Shala. It is just my time to move on ;) I have found a lovely little place to call HOME (in every since of the word) - to do my practice, work with my clients and teach Ashtanga Yoga in the pure tradition of Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. I am exhilarated, free, and happy to be in a new space with such wonderful energy. To be grounded - ahh - there is no greater feeling!
My mother sent me the quote below on Wednesday after I resigned my position at Urban Ashtanga:
"What I like most about change is that it's a synonym for 'hope.' If you are taking a risk, what you are really saying is, 'I believe in tomorrow and I will be part of it.'" -- Linda Ellerbee
RIGHT ON LINDA ELLERBEE
I'd like to add another fitting quote:
"Life tends to respond to our outlook, to shape itself to meet our expectations."
-- Rich Devos

On another exciting note - my friend Janie and I have been working hard for the last month to create the Central Florida Yoga Alliance - Our goal is to create a venue through which teachers from all yoga traditions can meet one another, learn about the varied styles and classes offered, help one another find instructors and subs for classes, hold community events to spread the word of yoga regardless of tradition, create community events where yogis can volunteer time to help the community at large, and much more. We had our very first meeting today and it was a huge success! More to come on this and more ;)
Wishing everyone a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.
Om Shanti
