Saturday was a pretty picture perfect day for me...I woke up early without the aid of the alarm clock in the perfect amount of time to shower and catch the bus to the bottom of the castle where the weekend farmer's market takes place. I actually got there quite early and vendors were setting up - I didn't buy anything, hadn't planned to - just wanted to see what it was like today....From there me and my trusty camera took a nice long stroll around Edinburgh...I stopped countless times to check things out - like the visitors center for instance. Also stopped into one of the local malls for a pee and experienced my first pay to use toilet in the UK ;) but unlike India where it is 2 rupees I had to pay a whopping 20 p or forty cents to take my much needed pee....worth it I must confess :)

I spent the entire day, almost entire, exploring...I'd paid for a full day's bus pass so I went from walking to riding to walking to riding from about 7:30am til about 2pm...I walked home from the city center (a good 45 minute stroll) and on my way to my flat I stopped into a thrift shop where I SCORED a really warm scarf and a fantastic black cap that is long enough to cover my head and ears ;) - I also went into a camera shop and snagged a used lens - just the basic lens that comes with the cannon camera but mine went missing so I desperately needed to replace it. Sad thing is that VAT tax here is 17.5% (OUCH) and the damn used lens cost more here than it would new in America....Price you pay I suppose....

Came home for a (you guessed it) hot bowl of porridge (or oatmeal -depending on what part of zee world you are from :) and I attended to a few various things - one of which was talking to Kwang - he was in an uber silly mood yesterday, which was quite enjoyable for me. After our little conversation I walked back to the city to meet with my new friend ;) Kevin. Spoke to my mama for a while during my walk - really nice to have a better connection to my family and friends back in the States while I'm here - reception is better and getting in touch is so much easier b/c it is only a five hour time difference - makes all the difference ;)

Kevin and I met up for tea at St. Marys and had a lovely chat...Then we went to his flat so he could show me where he lives and so I could drop off my yoga mat (we planned to practice there together Sunday). I left him to make my way to the gym for a nice hour plus of movement - not that I'm not moving - I obviously walked a lot today but I wanted to get really warm and also take advantage of the gorgeous facility. I enjoyed a good cardio session followed by a bit of 'playing' around with some weight training - just had a good time moving on my day off from yoga practice and really love being inside that facility - you have no idea how nice it is in there - and warm ;)

I opted to walk home - well sort of....I walked through the old town a bit with my itunes a blazzin...I remember walking around thinking, "Ahhhhh, there is no place else I'd rather be right now!" It was so breathtakingly beautiful, so historic, so full of energy...After a good half hour of roaming I decided it was nearly 9pm and I should try to get home. Only problem was I didn't know where I was! So I grabbed the only bus that stops nearby and took it - but it went to a very different part of Edinburgh than I needed to - so I got off in an area of town that isn't quite so lovely - and waited for the next bus to take me back where I started....Then I sort of started over, found my way to Princes street and from there grabbed a bus that took me back to Morningside, where I reside (like the rhyme ;)

As I was getting off the bus Sasha called ;) she's coming to visit soon!!! She's supposed to arrive on the 12th of October and will be here a little over a week. We are trying to plan our little getaway to Ireland and think we will do it just before she leaves - I'm so excited to see here I can barely stand it! We said our goodnights and love ya's and I bolted into my flat on a mission - to eat! I was Starving......I made a salad and had some milk....and then headed for bed....A very full filling, very interesting day in Edinburgh.....Below are some photos I took of the city...But I had to use my nifty fifty lens bc I had not yet gotten my replacement 18-55m....so I'll have some more coming shortly!

I thought my Citrus Club gang would appreciate this one! I know it put a smile on my face ;)
